Overnight Weather Forecast Tuesday, December 18th, 2018

Wednesday will be the nicest day of the week with a sunny to partly cloudy sky with highs in the 40s. Sunshine will give way to an increase in cloudiness on Thursday. Some rainfall from the next storm system will start to arrive from the south during the afternoon.

As this storm system lifts through the region, we’ll have periods of rain Thursday night and Friday, some of which can be heavy. This will add to what is already by far the wettest year on record. A cold front will then sweep through the region Friday night. Behind the front it will be windy and it will turn colder with snow showers Saturday. Highs in the 30s with the wind colder than that. Sunday will feature a mix of clouds and sunshine with highs in the 30s to near 40. A weak disturbance may bring some flurries and snow showers Sunday night into Christmas Eve Day morning. Therefore, there is a chance for some snow on the ground for Christmas albeit it small. The best chance will be west of I-99 though it’s still quite early and things could change though the chance for any travel issues seems very small. Monday will be cloudy to partly sunny and a bit chilly with highs in the 30s. Christmas day will be partly sunny with highs in the 30s to near 40. Temperatures will stay milder than average as we head into the end of the year.
