Weathercast

Temperatures will slowly rise through the early morning hours as clouds thicken up. Some light snow will develop to the southwest by dawn.

This disturbance will bring a period of snow Friday morning and midday. Right now it looks light with the steadiest the farther south you are in the region with just a touch of snow or flurries north of I-80. This system can bring a quick few inches in places, mainly near the Maryland border and in the southern Laurel Highlands because of this the National Weather Service had issued a winter weather advisory for Cambria, Somerset and Bedford counties.   Clouds and some snow will help to keep temperatures from rising higher than the middle to upper teens. Behind the system, it will still be quite cold Friday night with lows in the lower teens. It will still be quite cold when Phil comes out of his burrow at Gobbler’s Knob Saturday morning. It now looks like there may be a fair amount of clouds so it will be interesting to hear what Phil says. The rest of Saturday will feature more clouds than sunshine with the chance for some freezing drizzle. Highs will be in the upper 20s to the lower 30s.  We’ll turn even milder on Sunday with clouds and some sunshine and only the chance for a shower or some drizzle. Highs will reach the lower 40s in places. We’ll have an even milder day on Monday clouds, some sunshine and only the chance for a couple of showers. Temperatures should reach well into the 40s to near 50. With clouds breaking
