This morning temperatures are tumbling as winds increase. Today will be a chilly and windy day. We will have winds from the northwest between fifteen to twenty miles an hour. Wind gusts will even be higher. Our temperatures will be in the lower to mid 30s, but they will hit early in the day and begin to drop into the 20s as the day goes on. Winds will make the air feel colder. As the day goes on we will have a rather cloudy sky with some snow showers. Watch for changing visibility and slick roads. We will have some accumulating snowfall in western counties between 1-3″ but in the Laurel Highlands locally there could be between 3-6″ Due to this, Somerset County is under a Winter Weather Advisory until 1:00 PM Thursday afternoon. Wednesday night our low temperatures will fall into the lower to mid 20s.
Thursday we will have more clouds compared to sunshine with flurries. Our high temperatures on Thursday will be in the upper 20s to lower 30s. This is slightly below average for this time of the year. Our average high temperatures in early January are in the lower to mid 30s. Thursday will also be a windy day. Thursday night we will fall into the upper teens to lower 20s, with patchy clouds. Friday we will have a mix of clouds and sunshine. Our high temperatures on Friday will be in the upper 20s to lower 30s. Friday night we will fall into the lower to mid 20s.
Saturday we will have a cloudy sky with snow late. Our high temperatures on Saturday will be in the lower to mid 30s. Saturday night it looks like there will be a system to our south that could bring us a cloudy sky and some snow into early Sunday morning. Snow showers will linger early Sunday and then we will have clouds will be breaking for sunshine. Sunday our high temperatures will be in the upper 20s to lower 30s. A ridge of high pressure will be building into the region. Sunday night we will have low temperatures in the lower to mid teens, with a clear sky. Monday we will have sunshine with clouds mixing in. Our high temperatures will be in the upper 20s to lower 30s. Monday night will be clear with low temperatures in the lower to mid 20s. Tuesday we will have high temperatures in the mid to upper 30s.
