This morning we will have some lingering snow showers before it is just cloudy. Today we will have snow showers and a bit of freezing drizzle. As the day goes on we will have another storm system approaching by evening. Our high temperatures today will be in the lower to mid 30s. Winds today will be light from the northeast. Precipitation later today could briefly start off as freezing drizzle before switching over to snowfall.
We will continue to see a steadier snow during the overnight hours before it switches over to sleet or freezing rain. Snow will accumulate before the sleet and freezing rain begins. Expect South of the turnpike 1-3” North of the Turnpike around 3-6”. Clearfield and Centre County could have 6-9” of new snowfall. These numbers could be lower if there is more sleet and freezing rain. A Winter Storm Warning has been issued for Somerset County until Noon Tuesday. Cambria, Blair, Bedford, and Huntingdon Counties are under a Winter Weather Advisory beginning noon today until noon Tuesday. Indiana and Jefferson Counties are also under a Winter Weather Advisory beginning 11:00 AM today until 1:00 PM Tuesday. Elk, Clearfield, and Centre County are under a Winter Storm Watch from noon today until 6:00 PM Tuesday. Tonight’s low temperatures will be in the upper 20s to lower 30s.
Tuesday morning will be a very treacherous commute. There will be snow and a wintry mix. As Tuesday goes on, temperatures will try to make it into the lower to mid 30s. As temperatures rise, we will continue to see the precipitation switching over from snow to sleet and freezing rain and in some spots to just plain rain. Tuesday night our low temperatures will not drop far. We will have lows in the upper 20s to lower 30s.
Wednesday morning we will start off with some scattered snow showers and during the afternoon there will be a variable cloudy sky. Wednesday will also be a very windy day. Winds on Wednesday will be from the west between fifteen to twenty miles an hour. Our high temperatures on Wednesday will be in the lower to mid 30s. Wednesday night we will have patchy clouds with low temperatures in the mid to upper 20s. Thursday will be a quiet day. We will have more clouds compared to sunshine. Our high temperatures on Thursday will be in the 40s. Thursday night our low temperatures will fall into the lower to mid 20s.
Friday our next system will move in. Our high temperatures on Friday will be in the 40s with clouds increasing. Later in the day showers will arrive, at first it could be a bit of a mix. Friday night our low temperatures will fall into the upper 20s to lower 30s. Into Saturday we will have a wintry mix before it switches to some snow showers. Our high temperatures on Saturday will be in the lower to mid 30s. Into the next week temperatures will be in the upper 30s to lower 40s.
