This morning it started as freezing rain, now mainly snow is falling across the region except in the Laurel Highlands. We will continue to have more snow in the east compared to the west as this system continues to move through. Overnight tonight into early tomorrow this will switch back into snowfall. At times this snow will becoming down very quickly.
We will see 6-9” of snowfall in total in many locations. North and east of I-99 there will be some places that could see 9-12 inches. Localized areas even more. Everyone will also have a bit of ice, depending on how much sleet and ice there is, this will impact snow totals. More ice will mean less snow, less ice will put the snow accumulations at the higher ends. Even small amounts of ice can create very dangerous driving conditions. Please use caution and keep up to date. Traveling will be treacherous and due to this, the National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for every county until early Friday morning, except Jefferson and Indiana. Those counties are under an Advisory until Friday AM.
