Northern and eastern counties are dealing with a bit of freezing rain but it will switch over to plain rain as the afternoon continues. Watch for slick road conditions as you travel today. Everyone else is already seeing a steady rain which is a fitting end to 2018 with more rain considering it was the wettest year on record for most of us in the area with many locations with over 70″ of rainfall this year. Today our high temperatures will be in the lower to mid 40s. Winds today will start light but pick up from the southeast as the day goes on it will be breezy.
We will have temperatures trying to rise overnight but it will be cloudy with rainfall. Temperatures will stay overnight into the 40s some locations into the 50s. If you plan on any outdoor New Year’s Eve plans you’ll want to make sure to have a rain jacket with you. New Year’s Day we will have shower early and then variable cloudiness. It will be a very windy start to the New Year. Winds will be between 15-20 mph. Gusts will be up to 50 mph. Due to this the National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory for Indiana and Jefferson County beginning tonight at 9:00 PM until 7:00 AM Tuesday.
Our temperatures on New Year’s day will hit highs in the 40s, and some locations 50s early and then drop into the 30s by the end of the day. Winds will make the air feel colder. Low temperatures on Tuesday night will be in the upper 20s to lower 30s. Wednesday we will have times of clouds and sunshine. Our high temperatures will be in the mid to upper 30s. Wednesday we will have low temperatures dropping into the mid to upper 20s.
Thursday our high temperatures will be in the mid to upper 30s. Some locations will reach into the 40s. Thursday we will have clouds mixing in with some sunshine. Thursday night into Friday there will be a system to our south. It could move into our region bringing us rain that will switch over to snow late Friday. If it stays to our south, we will have just have a rather cloudy day. Our high temperatures on Friday will be in the upper 30s to lower 40s. Friday will be a blustery day. Friday night our low temperatures will fall into the upper 20s to lower 40s.
Saturday we will have a partly to mostly sunny sky. Our high temperatures on Saturday will be in the upper 30s to lower 40s. Sunday we will have high temperatures in the upper 30s to lower 40s with clouds mixing in with some sunshine. Monday cooler air will arrive. We will have high temperatures in the upper 30s to lower 40s.
