The storm system that has been plaguing the middle of the nation with severe weather and tornadoes will track to our north and west and bring a front to our area on Thursday. We’ll have a warmer and more humid day with a mix of clouds and sunshine. Some spots may have a shower in the morning but then we’ll have scattered thunderstorms during the afternoon into the evening. Some will be strong to severe with damaging wind gusts, hail and flooding downpours. The ingredients are there for some places in our state to get a tornado. Highs Thursday will be near to just above 80.
Behind that front, Friday will be slightly cooler with partial sunshine and lower humidity. Highs will be in the middle to upper 70s. Saturday will turn warmer and a bit more humid with a mix of clouds and sunshine. Highs will be near to just above 80. A shower or thunderstorm could arrive by the end of the day on Saturday then we will have a few showers and thunderstorms around Saturday night into Sunday. Highs on Sunday will be in the 70s to near 80. A shower or thunderstorm is still possible on Memorial Day; otherwise, it looks like it will be warm and humid for the holiday with a mix of clouds and sunshine. Highs on Monday will be near to just above 80. Tuesday will be slightly cooler than Monday with highs in the 70s along with a mix of clouds and sunshine. There will only be a small chance for a shower or thunderstorm Tuesday into Wednesday. Warm and more humid air does return on Wednesday with highs in the lower to middle 80s.
