Evening Weather Forecast Wednesday, February 20th, 2019


We’ll continue to have freezing rain mixed with some sleet early tonight. A significant build up of ice is possible in places and a winter storm warning remains in effect for the counties along and south of Route 22 with a winter weather advisory farther to the north. No matter which area you are in, travel will be tricky as rain will freeze on some surfaces and it will be hard to tell the difference between a clear road and an icy road.  Temperatures should rise enough later tonight for the precipitation to change to all plain rain.

We’ll still have a bit of rain in places early Thursday then clouds will break during the afternoon. It will be breezy and milder with highs in the 40s but temperatures may start to drift downward later in the day. Friday will be a nice day with some sunshine and highs in the lower to middle 40s. Clouds from the next storm system will start to increase by Saturday followed by rain developing. There is a slight chance for the precipitation to start as a bit of a wintry mix. This precipitation will be mostly rain Saturday night into early Sunday. Temperatures will have a Clouds will try to break later Sunday with highs in the 40s to near 50. We’ll have a blustery day on Monday with clouds, some sunshine along with the chance for flurries or snow showers. Highs will be in the 30s to near 40. It will stay chilly on Tuesday with more clouds than sunshine and a chance for a bit of snow or a wintry mix. Another system may bring a period of light snow on Wednesday. It will stay cold behind that system for the start of March.
