Tonight will turn out to be mostly cloudy. Temperatures will drop into and through the teens in places this evening but as clouds thicken, temperatures will start to rise by dawn. There may be a touch of freezing drizzle or sleet by the time the sun rises so keep that in mind when planning your morning commute. This next storm system is going to cut to the west which means that we’re on the warm side of the storm and this will not be a major snowmaker. That being said, we still have plenty of cold air near the surface which means this system will bring sleet and freezing rain for a time Wednesday. This will make roads slick for a time tomorrow and a Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for much of the region north of Route 22 and east of Route 219 through 7pm Wednesday. Be careful as a wet road and an icy road look the same. Temperatures will be slow to rise through the 30s on Wednesday, making it to the lower 40s west of Route 219 later in the day and then elsewhere Wednesday night.
This system will drag a cold front through the region Thursday. There will still be some rain or a mix of rain and snow ending as scattered flurries and snow showers early Thursday. Clouds should break for some sunshine on Thursday. Highs will be in the 30s, but it may turn windy and colder later in the day. Another push of arctic air comes our way on Friday. It will be windy and colder Friday with clouds, some sunshine along with scattered flurries and maybe mountain snow showers. Highs will only be in the teens to the lower 20s Friday. Temperatures will likely drop into the single digits in places Friday night. Saturday will be mostly cloudy and quite cold with scattered flurries and snow showers. Highs will be in the teens to the lower 20s. It will stay chilly on Sunday with clouds, some sunshine along with scattered flurries and snow showers. Highs will be in the 20s. The cold will ease a little on Monday with clouds, some sunshine along with scattered flurries and snow showers. Highs will be near to above 30s. Another arctic front will bring some snow showers on Tuesday followed a brutal push of arctic air after that.
