A mix of rain and snow will sink to the south of the area this evening. Dry air moving in from the north will give us a clearing later tonight. It will become much colder tonight with lows in the 20s. Some of the higher elevations north of I-80 will drop into the upper teens.
A bubble of high pressure will build into the region and give us a good deal of sunshine on Tuesday. It will be a chilly day despite that sunshine with highs in the lower to middle 40s. A clear sky and light winds will set the stage for another cold night Tuesday night with lows in the 20s. Some colder places will drop into the teens. Wednesday will still feature a good deal of sunshine, but it will turn slightly milder and breezy during the afternoon with highs near to just above 50.
As this high pressure system continues shifts to the east, Thursday will become breezy and milder with a mix of clouds and sunshine. There is a chance for a shower Thursday. Highs Thursday will be in the 50s to near 60. Friday will be breezy and milder with clouds, some sunshine and just the chance for a shower in places. Highs will be in the lower to middle 60s. Saturday will be breezy and mild with clouds, some sunshine and the chance for a late day shower or thunderstorm. The best chance will be in the northern and western part of the region and during the afternoon. Temperatures on Saturday will reach well into the 60s, maybe to near 70 in places. We’ll have showers, maybe even a period of steadier rain, later Saturday night into Sunday as a cold front moves into the region. Temperatures on Sunday will reach into the 50s but it will start to turn cooler during the afternoon. A new area of high pressure will give us plenty of sunshine on Monday, but it will be cooler with highs in the lower to middle 50s. Temperatures will stay at a seasonable level through the middle of the following week.
