Evening Forecast Saturday, January 12, 2019

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for Cambria, Blair, and Huntingdon counties until 7 AM Sunday. Somerset and Bedford counties are under a Winter Weather Advisory until 7 PM Sunday. This is for the accumulating snow that we will see tonight that can create slick conditions on untreated surfaces and may reduce visibility at times. Caution should be used.

Tonight we will continue to have snow at varying rates with more snow in the south than to the north as a low-pressure system will be passing off to our south. This will bring around 3 to 6 inches of accumulation mostly south of Clearfield and Centre counties. Some of the higher elevations may see a bit more. Around I-80 and northward there will be a coat to a couple of inches. Now even though other counties are not under an advisory caution should still be used as there can be slick spots. Low temperatures tonight will be falling down into the upper teens and the lower 20s. The snow will start to taper to flurries tomorrow and come to an end as the low-pressure pulls away and high pressure start to build in. Clouds will start to break from the north and continue south through Sunday and Sunday night. There will be some flurries lingering in the southern portion of the area until later Sunday. Sunday will be a cold day as our high temperatures will once again not get out of the 20s. Sunday night will be cold as we will have a partially clear sky as our low temperatures will fall into the lower and middle teens. High pressure will be with us most of the week bringing us a stretch of dry weather.
