Earthquake rattles Russia, triggers Tsunami Watch in Hawaii

A 7.5 magnitude earthquake occurred off the coast of Russia Wednesday and sent tremors across the Kuril Islands. The islands can be found northeast of the Japanese city Sapporo.

The earthquake did not cause a lot of damage but did trigger a Tsunami Watch in Hawaii. Only slight tidal changes were expected therefore, the watch was later cancelled.
