Above Average Rainfall continues from 2018 into 2019

Last year we had our wettest year on record in Altoona when 71.49″ of rain fell. This year most month’s have already had above average precipitation amounts except for March. 

From January until May 14th this year we have had 17.61″ of rainfall. During this time period last year we were slightly above with 17.8″

May is known to be our wettest month. On average we see about 3.71″ of rainfall. That amount has already fallen and we are only half way through the month.

During the years of 2017, 2018, and now 2019, it has rained 10 days out of the first 14 days in May. In 2016, we had 12 rainy days out of the first 14 that precipitation was measured. May is known to be a soggy month, but it looks like the above average rainfall will continue.
