Today it is going to feel like the middle of summer here across Central Pennsylvania. We will have high temperatures in the upper 70s to lower 80s. These temperatures are typical for early July and not early May. Average high temperatures for this time of the year are in the mid 60s. We will have sunshine mixing in with some clouds today. It will also be breezy. Due to the winds and dry weather the National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning has been issued for Bedford, Blair, Huntingdon, Centre, Mifflin, Clinton, and Fulton Counties until 9:00 PM. Please refrain from burning. Wildfires could easily spread. Northern counties there is a front stalled to your north, later today with the daytime heating, and humidity we cannot rule out a stray pop up shower or thunderstorm late today and into the evening hours. Tonight we will have patchy clouds with low temperatures in the mid to upper 50s. There could be a few showers and thunderstorms tonight.
Tomorrow will be breezy with clouds and sunshine with an afternoon shower or thunderstorm. Within a thunderstorm, we could have some gusty winds and heavy downpours. Temperatures tomorrow will soar into the lower to mid 80s. We will flirt with breaking a record high temperature. Our record in Altoona for Thursday is 86 back in 1965. Thursday night low temperatures will be in the lower to mid 60s. We will have variable cloudiness with showers and thunderstorms.
Friday will be a windy day as a cold front moves across the area. We will have variable cloudiness on Friday with scattered showers and thunderstorms. Temperatures will begin to drop on Friday. We will have high temperatures on Friday in the lower to mid 70s. Friday night we will have a few lingering showers but the clouds will begin to break. Our low temperatures on Friday will be in the lower to mid 50s. Saturday there will be a partly sunny sky and it will be a seasonable day. Our high temperatures on Saturday will be in the upper 60s to lower 70s. Saturday night our low temperatures will be in the mid to upper 40s with a partially clear sky.
Sunday there will be a system to our south, that will bring us times of clouds and sunshine. Southern counties could even see some showers on Sunday. It will be another comfortable day with high temperatures in the mid to upper 60s. Monday at this time looks dry with more clouds compared to sunshine. A weak disturbance will try to move in from the west. We will have a better idea as the week goes on but we could see some showers on Monday. Our high temperatures on Monday will be in the mid to upper 60s. Monday night we will have a partly cloudy sky with low temperatures in the mid to upper 40s. Tuesday a ridge of high pressure will move in. This will bring us a mostly sunny sky. Our high temperatures on Tuesday will be in the upper 60s to lower 70s. The rest of next week high temperatures will be in the upper 60s to lower 70s.
