Today we will start off with some snow showers and flurries. There is a Winter Weather Advisory for Indiana and Jefferson until noon, and Somerset, Cameron, Clearfield, Cambria, and Elk Counties until 1:00 PM.  today clouds will begin to break for some peeks of sunshine. Compared to where we have been temperature wise over the past few days, today will be very cold. Our high temperatures will be in the lower to mid 20s. Not helping the cold with be the blustery northwesterly winds. Winds will be sustained between ten to fifteen miles an hour and gusts could reach up to 30 miles an hour. This could lead to snow blowing back onto the roadways and low visibility. Please use caution as you commute. Tonight will be partially clear and that will allow temperatures to quickly plummet. Our low temperatures will be in the upper single digits to lower teens.

Wednesday a ridge of high pressure will be to our south. This will usher in some milder air. Our high temperatures will be in the upper 30s to lower 40s. During the day on Wednesday we will have a mix of clouds and sunshine. Wednesday night our low temperatures will be in the mid to upper 20s with patchy clouds. Thursday starts off with some sunshine but then clouds will increase as the day goes on. We will have a low pressure system rolling through. High temperatures on Thursday will be in the lower to mid 40s. As this system makes its way through, we will see some rain first switching over to a wintry mix then some snow. Use caution as you travel. There could be some hazardous road conditions. We will have a better idea how this system will impact us here in Central PA as the week continues. Low temperatures on Thursday will fall into the lower to mid 20s. We will even see the snow showers continuing Thursday night into Friday morning.

If you are headed to Gobblers Knob for Groundhog Day on Friday morning, you’ll want to bundle up. Temperatures will be in the 20s and it will be blustery. Friday high temperatures will be in the upper 20s to lower 30s. There will be some lingering snow showers and flurries, otherwise we will have times of clouds and sunshine. Friday night will be bitter cold. Our low temperatures will fall into the single digits to lower teens. Saturday will be drier but still cold.
