Weather Forecasts

This morning there could be some freezing rain in Northern Counties. Please use caution while traveling.  The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Elk, Cameron, Clinton, Clearfield, Jefferson, and Centre County until today at 10:00 AM. Today the freezing rain will switch over to showers and drizzle. A low pressure system’s warm front will be crossing the area, bringing us the mixed precipitation. Today temperatures will be climbing into the mid to upper 40s. We will continue to have showers overnight into Saturday as well.

Saturday will be a dreary day. We will have times of rain on Saturday. At times it will fall heavy. This could reduce visibility. Saturday temperatures will soar ahead of a cold front. Our high temperatures on Saturday will be in the lower to mid 50s. This is well above average for this time of the year. Our average high temperatures are in the mid 30s. It will also be a breezy day. Winds on Saturday will be between ten to fifteen miles an hour. Gusts will be even higher. Winds will be from the southwest which will usher in the milder air. Saturday night into the day on Sunday low temperatures will fall near the freezing mark of 32 degrees. This could lead showers to turn over to a wintry mix. If you are traveling late Saturday or even early Sunday please use caution. There could be some slick and icy spots on the roadways.

The rest of Sunday we will have a rather cloudy sky. Our high temperatures on Sunday will be in the mid to upper 30s. Sunday night we will have a cloudy sky with snow showers.  At this time, it does look like we will have a white Christmas. The cold front will have moved through dropping our temperatures. Temperatures on Christmas will be in the mid to upper 20s. This means we will probably have snow compared to a wintry mix as another disturbance moves through. Christmas will also be a very windy day making the air feel even colder. Temperatures will tumble during the overnight hours. Our low temperatures will be in the teens to lower 20s.

Tuesday we will have times of clouds and sunshine. We will have some scattered snow showers on Tuesday. It will be a chilly day. Our high temperatures on Tuesday will be in the lower to mid 20s. Tuesday night will be bitter cold. Our low temperatures on Tuesday night will fall into the single digits to lower teens. Wednesday will also be a very cold day. We will have high temperatures on Wednesday in the upper teens to lower 20s. During the day on Wednesday we will have a mix of clouds and sunshine. There will also be a few flurries on Wednesday. Wednesday night will fall into the teens. The rest of next week we will continue to have arctic air in our region making it very cold. Our high temperatures will be in the upper teens to lower 20s.
