This afternoon will be humid as scattered showers and thunderstorms arrive. Some thunderstorms could produce damaging winds and heavy downpours. A  Flash Flood Watch has been issued for Bedford and Somerset counties beginning at 2:00 PM  until midnight. If you come across a roadway covered in water turn around and take a different route.   Our high temperatures will reach into the mid to upper 80s. This is well above average for this time in May. Our average temperatures for mid May are in the upper 60s to lower 70s.  Tonight our low temperatures will fall into the lower to mid 60s. There could be a shower or thunderstorm overnight into Wednesday.

 Wednesday we will have a mix of clouds and sunshine with an afternoon shower or thunderstorm. Our high temperatures on Wednesday will be in the lower to mid 70s. Wednesday night we will have low temperatures in the upper 50s to lower 60s. There could be a shower or thunderstorm Wednesday night. Most of this week will be unsettled due to a front stalled over our region. We will also have a lot of moisture coming up from the south. This will lead to instability and some showers and thunderstorms popping up in the afternoon hours. Each day this week a thunderstorm capable of producing strong winds and downpours is possible. You’ll want to keep up to date with our WTAJ Weather App and also with our interactive radar. Due to the showers and thunderstorms, the ground is now saturated which could lead to minor flash flooding within a storm. If you come across a road covered in water, make sure to turn around and take an alternate route.

Thursday this pattern persists. We will have times of clouds and sun with a few showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. Our high temperatures on Thursday will be in the mid to upper 70s. Friday we will have variable cloudiness with scattered showers and thunderstorms. The clouds will keep us slightly cooler on Friday. We will have high temperatures in the lower to mid 70s. Friday night our low temperatures will fall into the mid to upper 50s. Saturday we will have a partly cloudy sky. A shower or thunderstorm cannot be ruled out during the afternoon hours. Our high temperatures on Saturday will be in the upper 60s to lower 70s. Saturday night out low temperatures will fall into the upper 50s to lower 60s.

Sunday will be a similar day. We will have intervals of clouds and sunshine with a stray afternoon shower or thunderstorm. Our high temperatures on Sunday will be in the lower to mid 70s. Our high temperatures on Monday will reach into the mid to upper 70s. There will be times of clouds and sunshine with afternoon showers and thunderstorms. The rest of next week high temperatures will be in the lower to mid 70s.
