Breaking Down the Timing of the Snow and Ice

Somerset and Bedford: The first counties to see the snow on Wednesday will the the southern counties. The heavy snow will arrive between 4:00 a.m. – 5:00 a.m. The snow will fall quick and stick to the roadways on the faster pace. Both Somerset and Bedford counties will get between 3-6 inches of snow. Sleet and freezing rain will move in by late morning and take over by the afternoon. Use caution while driving.

Cambria, Blair, and Huntingdon: The snow will arrive between 5:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. for the central counties. Cambria county will see the snow first out of the central counties. Huntingdon county will see the snow arrive closer to 6:00 a.m. Cambria county will get between 3-6 inches of snow while Blair and Huntingdon will get 6-9 inches of snow. The sleet and freezing rain will move in around 12:00 p.m. and take over from that point on. Use caution while driving.

Jefferson, Clearfield, and Centre: The snow will arrive between 6:30 a.m. – 7:30 a.m. for these counties. Jefferson county will see the least amount of snow, about 1-3 inches. Clearfield county will get between 3-6 inches of snow. Western Clearfield county will be closer to the 3 inch mark. While eastern Clearfield will be closer to the 6 inch mark. Centre county will recieve the highest amount of snow. Centre county can expect 6-9 inches of snow. The sleet and freezing rain will arrive around 1:00 p.m. for Jefferson and Clearield counties. The sleet and freezing rain will arrive closer to 2:00 p.m. for Centre county. Use caution while driving.

Elk and Cameron: The snow will arrive between 7:30 a.m. – 8:30 a.m. for the northern most counties. Western Elk county will recieve between 1-3 inches of snow. While the eastern part of Elk and Cameron counties will recieve between 3-6 inches of snow. The sleet and freezing rain will arrive around 1:30 p.m. for Elk county and 2:30 p.m. for Cameron county. Use caution while driving.
