We’ve been tracking a major shift coming in our weather pattern. As we shift to a much colder weather pattern, we’re going to have a few disturbances that can bring some winter precipitation. While early in the week, computer models showed eye-catching amounts of snow, we knew there were going to be shifts, and there have been some big changes.
Three disturbances will set the stage to this shift to major cold. One front will move through Wednesday afternoon with some flurries and snow showers, but accumulation will be very light and spotty. A second disturbance will mostly bring a widespread light snow Thursday night into very early Friday and can leave us with a slippery morning commute. The storm that has garnered the most talk as been the third which will come over the weekend. The models are hinting more rain than snow in places down to the south but we are nervous that is may be more freezing rain and sleet. There will also still be significant snowfall in places. We’ll continue to monitor as we get closer. It’s still too early to speculate exact accumulations.
