We had a lot of rain fall in the past 24 hours especially in our southern counties. The National Weather Service has lifted the Flash Flood Warnings and Advisories in Somerset county this morning. There are still a few lingering showers in Central Pennsylvania this morning but they are moving out. Watch out for ponding on the roadways on your way to work. As the day goes on we will see the rain move east and the clouds clear out. By this afternoon all of the rain will be gone and wew ill have a partly cloudy sky. The clouds will start to clear from the north and move south. Today’s highs will reach the upper 70s to the lower 80s.
Tonight the cloud cover will begin to increase again ahead of our next rain maker. Tonight expect a mostly cloudy sky with scattered showers and a few thunderstorms. It looks like most of the rain will fall in our southern counties Somerset and Bedford. Tonights lows will reach the upper 50s to the lower 60s.
Friday the rain will continue for the better part of the day with a cloudy sky. A few of our models are saying we could pick up another 1-2 inches of rain for our southern counties throughout Friday and Saturday morning. So flooding could become an issue for some parts in our southern viewing area. With a cloudy sky, easterly winds and rain our temperatures will have a hard time getting out of the 60s tomorrow. The afternoon highs will range from the mid 60s to the mid 70s. Those cities and towns who don’t see a a lot of rain and a bit of sun will be warmer. The northern counties should be a bit warmer than the rest of the viewing area because they will not receive as much rain and could see breaks in the clouds.
Saturday looks wet as well. Scattered showers and thunderstorms will continue throughout the day but we will see more breaks in the clouds. Saturday will be a warmer day with our highs in the mid to upper 70s.
High pressure will move in Sunday and that will help clear out the cloud cover and rain. We can not rule out a stray shower or thunderstorms in the afternoon for a few people but most of us will stay dry. the majority of us will see a partly cloudy sky. Sunday’s highs will reach the upper 70s to the lower 80s.
Monday though Thursday of next week looks very nice. High pressure moves in and that will keep the weather calm and pleasant. Monday we will start a mini warm up. Monday’s highs will be in the upper 70s to the lower 80s. By Thursday the temperatures will reach the mid to upper 80s. Each day we will see a mix of a mostly clear sky to a partly cloudy sky.
