Ski Report – December 30th, 2016

It’s another holiday weekend and a lot of people are heading out to the slopes to have some fun. After some midweek milder weather things have improved for the weekend. Just think this time last year ski season was just getting started and this year some resorts have been open for a month. The resorts in western New York are doing the best thanks to the recent lake effect snow. Peek N Peak has once again been the first resort to reach 100% open. Many of the Pennsylvania resorts may even open more slopes on Saturday and Snowshoe is doing fine at 4800′.

As for the weather. Saturday will be a bit windy but we should have nice groomed trails and maybe some peeks of sunshine. The next system will bring some snow later Saturday for the Pennsylvania and New York resorts. Unfortunately this may end as a wintry mix to drizzle by Sunday morning and that may cause a bit of a glaze in some spots. Though while it won’t be as good as Saturday, Sunday shouldn’t be too bad of a day.

Happy Turns,
