We’ll have some areas of fog early; otherwise, Thursday will be quite warm and humid with a mix of clouds and sunshine. An approaching cold front will bring some showers and thunderstorms, mainly during the afternoon into the evening. Highs on Thursday will be in the 80s. This front will stall close to the area and give us cloudier and more unsettled weather for a while.
We’ll still have more clouds than sunshine on Friday along with scattered showers, perhaps more numerous down toward the Maryland border. These clouds will keep temperatures from rising much higher than the lower to middle 70s. We should still have more clouds than sunshine on Saturday, but we likely will have a break from the showers for a bit. Highs on Saturday will be in the 60s to the lower 70s.
The weather gets a lot more difficult for the second half of the weekend into the middle of next week. The leftover moisture from what was once Tropical Storm Gordon may be tapped by this front and we’ll get a period of wet weather. Sunday will feature a mostly cloudy sky with showers developing. Depending on the timing of the rainfall, some places may not get out of the lower to middle 60s on Sunday. Monday will also be rather cloudy with showers or a period of steadier rainfall. Highs on Monday will be in the upper 60s to the lower 70s. Showers will still be possible on Tuesday with more clouds than sunshine. Highs will be in the 70s. We’ll turn warmer on Wednesday with a mix of clouds and sunshine along with just the chance for a shower. Highs will be near 80.
