Thursday will start off with a good deal of clouds and a brisk wind. There still could even be a flurry in a few spots. Clouds will then break for sunshine during the afternoon. Despite the return of sunshine it will still be brisk and chilly with highs in the 40s to near 50. We’re going to have a freeze in some more locations Thursday night into Friday morning. Because of this a freeze watch is in effect for the counties along and west of I-99. This is not to say the other spots will be warmer, but the growing season would have been over for these spots.
The chill will ease on Friday as an area of high pressure settles to our south and east. We’ll have a bit of a breeze on Friday with a mix of clouds and sunshine along with highs in the upper 50s to lower 60s. The next system will bring plenty of clouds with showers and drizzle Saturday. Behind that system it will turn much colder again on Sunday with a gusty wind and highs in the lower to middle 40s. Some of the higher elevations will not get out of the 30s. We will have some flurries on Sunday with even a ground whitening snow shower across some of the higher terrain. Temperatures on Monday will once again fail to rise out of the 40s despite some sunshine. Wednesday will not be quite as chilly with clouds and sunshine. Highs will be in the 40s to the lower 50s. We’ll stay a little cooler than average through the rest of next week.
