There will be scattered showers and thunderstorms on Wednesday as a warm front starts to press into and through the region. With more in the way of clouds along with the precipitation, temperatures will likely not make it out of the 70s in most locations on Wednesday. A cold front will press through the region Wednesday night into early Thursday. There likely will still be a couple of showers around early Thursday but then clouds should break for some sunshine. Even though a cold front passed though, the combination of a westerly flow and the return of some sunshine will help boost temperatures to near to just above 80 Thursday.
An area of high pressure building over the southeastern part of the nation will then set the stage for a significant heat wave building later this week into the upcoming weekend. Friday, Saturday and Sunday will feature a good deal of sunshine. It will turn hot and quite humid. Temperatures will reach well into the 80s Friday and then to near to just above 90 over the upcoming weekend. The nights will also become muggy with temperatures struggling to drop into the 60s. Monday will still be hot and humid with a mix of clouds and hazy sunshine but there will be the chance for a shower or thunderstorm as a weak front comes our way. Behind that front, temperatures will only reduce a little.
