Overnight Weather Forecast Monday, August 28th, 2017

Weather

A continued flow from the Atlantic Ocean will give us a gray and damper weather pattern for the next couple of days.  Tuesday will be rather cloudy and cool. While there may not be a lot of rain, it will be damp with drizzle and scattered showers. There will also be some fog up over the ridges. Temperatures will not rise out of the 60s, some places will have a tough time rising higher than the lower 60s. Wednesday will start off damp with some drizzle and a shower or two then the rest of the day will be cloudy to partly sunny with the chance for another shower. The extra peeks of sunshine will help temperatures to rebound back to near, if not just above 70°.

We’ll have more clouds than sunshine again on Thursday with some showers and drizzle possible once again.  As long as we get some sunshine, temperatures should rebound into the 70s. A front will cross the area, switch our winds and help to dry us out on Friday. We’ll have a partly sunny sky with highs in the lower to middle 70s. This front will stall to our south and likely will be responsible for bringing us unsettled weather for the upcoming weekend. We’ll have more clouds than sunshine on Saturday with the chance for drizzle and/or showers. This is something we are watching as a lot of folks will be heading to the first Penn State homegame against Akron. We’ll still have the chance for some drizzle and showers early Sunday then clouds could be breaking later in the day. Highs each day over the weekend will be in the 70s. The Labor Day holiday does also look to be unsettled with the chance for some showers or drizzle, but it does not look like a washout at this point in time. Highs on Monday will be in the lower to middle 70s which means the weather pattern is going to stay cool all of the way through the end of the usual swimming season. Beyond that, we’ll have a push of cooler than average air.
