Saturday will be windy and quite cold with clouds, some sunshine along with scattered flurries and snow showers. There will be another covering to an inch in spots, especially in the Laurel Highlands and in spots north of I-80. Temperatures will not rise much on Saturday with highs only in the 20s in the higher elevations to the middle 30s in the deeper valleys. The wind is going to make it feel significantly colder than that. This is going to make it quite cold for those going to the Penn State – Wisconsin game which will kick off at noon and there may be a flurry during the game.
The wind will slacken a little Saturday night with lows in the 20s. There still be some clouds mixed in for a time on Sunday but the sky should be mostly sunny by the end of the game. Despite the return of some sunshine, it will be chilly. Highs will be in the 30s to the lower 40s.
Another storm system will approach with an increase in cloudiness on Monday. Highs should be in the lower to middle 40s. This storm will bring, rain, snow or a mix of both Monday night into Tuesday. We’ll have a better feel as we get closer in time. Temperatures will likely not leave the 30s on Tuesday. Behind this system, it will be windy and quite cold on Wednesday with variable cloudiness and snow showers. Temperatures will struggle to reach back to near freezing on Wednesday. Thursday will be chilly, but with less wind and a mix of clouds and sunshine. Highs will be in the 30s. We’ll turn a little milder for the following weekend.
