Morning Forecast, Tuesday March 8th, 2016

This morning temperatures will be in the upper 30s to lower 40s with a rather cloudy sky. A ridge of high pressure sitting to our south will break up the clouds later today. However early today some locations could see a stray sprinkle or two. By this afternoon, we will have plenty of sunshine and blue sky. Today we will continue to have a southwesterly wind that will usher in even milder air. Our winds will be sustained at ten to fifteen miles an hour. This will help temperatures climb, along with the afternoon sunshine. Our high temperatures today will reach in the mid to upper 60s. Our average high temperatures for this time in March are in the lower to mid 40s. We will be well above that today, and tomorrow, we may even flirt with breaking record high temperatures. Tonight there will be a clear sky, and that will help us cool off a bit. Our low temperatures tonight will drop into the lower to mid 40s.

We will start off Wednesday with plenty of blue sky and sunshine, but clouds will begin to increase late in the afternoon hours and into the evening. It will also be a breezy day. A cold front will be sitting to our west, and eventually this low will move in finally breaking up the high pressure over the region. Ahead of the front is when we could see record breaking high temperatures. Our high temperatures on Wednesday will be in the upper 60s and in some locations into the lower 70s. Showers will arrive late on Wednesday and will develop into rain on Thursday.

Thursday will be a dreary and soggy day with a cloudy sky with rainfall. This will cool us down a bit, our high temperatures on Thursday will be in the upper 50s to lower 60s. Even though it is cooler, it will still be a lot milder than the average high temperatures for this time in March. Showers linger on Friday otherwise we will have intervals of clouds and sunshine with high temperatures in the lower to mid 50s. Saturday and into Sunday, another low pressure system will try to push across our region. This will bring us a variable cloudy sky and a chance for showers each day. Our high temperatures on Saturday will be in the lower to mid 50s. We will also see temperatures sitting in the lower to mid 50s on Sunday.

A more powerful low pressure system will move across Central Pennsylvania early next week. This will bring us rainfall on Monday. Despite the unsettled weather late this week and into early next week, temperatures will be well above average for this time in March.
