Not a lot happening in the northeast early this week. High pressure over New England keeps us mainly dry with a light breeze from the southeast. Clouds should break for some sunshine but temperatures will be on the cool side for late August. The average high today is 78 degrees but we’ll only reach the low 70s. A mostly cloudy sky, showers and an easterly wind will keep us in the 60 Tomorrow. Low pressure over the mid west is headed in our direction increasing clouds and the chance of wet weather Tuesday and Wednesday. This upper level low is weakening and should bring nothing more than scattered showers. High pressure returns and keeps us dry for the end of the week with temperatures moderating back into the middle 70s. A front will move through late this week and may bring showers and cooler temperatures into the picture Friday but for now we’ll keep rain out of the weekend forecast.
