Today clouds will thicken and we will have a mix back of precipitation. Expect some sleet, snow showers and ice throughout today. Due to this higher elevations may see more of a wintry mix. Use caution as you travel and watch for icy road conditions. A Winter Weather Advisory is issued for most of Central Pennsylvania. The Advisory begins at 7:00 p.m. Monday evening and goes to 4:00 a.m. until Tuesday. Tonight a warm front will be moving through the region bringing rain with it. The warm front will also help temperatures try to rise overnight. Temperatures will be in the upper 30s to lower 40s.
Tuesday we will have rain at first. Early Tuesday temperatures will briefly climb into the upper 40s to 50s. We will then have a cold front rolling across the region and later Tuesday temperatures will drop. As temperatures drop, rain could switch over to snow showers. Low temperatures on Tuesday night will be in the upper 20s to the lower to mid 30s.
Wednesday will be a chilly and windy day. We will have winds on Wednesday from the northwest between fifteen to twenty miles an hour. Wind gusts will even be higher. Our temperatures will be in the lower to mid 30s. Winds will make the air feel colder. As the day goes on we will have a rather cloudy sky with some snow showers. Watch for changing visibility and slick roads. Wednesday night our low temperatures will fall into the lower to mid 20s.
Thursday we will have more clouds compared to sunshine with flurries. Our high temperatures on Thursday will be in the upper 20s to lower 30s. This is slightly below average for this time of the year. Our average high temperatures in early January are in the lower to mid 30s. Thursday will also be a windy day. Thursday night we will fall into the upper teens to lower 20s, with patchy clouds.
Friday we will have a mix of clouds and sunshine. Our high temperatures on Friday will be in the upper 20s to lower 30s. Friday night we will fall into the lower to mid 20s.
Saturday we will have clouds mixing in with some sunshine. There is a chance of snow showers throughout the day. Our high temperatures on Saturday will be in the lower to mid 30s.
Sunday our high temperatures will be in the upper 20s to lower 30s with times of clouds and sunshine. Again there is a chance of snow showers in the morning. A ridge of high pressure will be building into the region late Sunday and into Monday. Sunday night we will have low temperatures in the lower to mid teens, with a clear sky. Monday we will have sunshine with a few clouds mixing in. Our high temperatures will be in the upper 20s to lower 30s.
