Friday Morning Weather Forecast, June 22, 2018

This morning we have widespread showers moving northeast through Central Pennsylvania. Be aware of ponding on some roads throughout today. As the day goes on we will keep a cloudy sky with the showers continuing. Because of the clouds, rain and the winds out of the east we will all struggle to get out of the 60s throughout today. A few cities may see 70 but that is if they see very little rain and peaks of sunshine. A few of these shower may turn into a thunderstorm in the afternoon and it could produce a heavy downpour.

Tonight we keep the active weather going. Expect a cloudy sky and off and on showers throughout the overnight hours. Again we can not rule out a passing thunderstorm. Tonights lows will reach the upper 50s to the lower 60s.

Saturday we will have more widespread thunderstorm activity throughout Central Pennsylvania. The winds will shift to the south and we will tap into some very warm and humid air. With the humidity and some day time heating we will see scattered thunderstorms throughout the afternoon. A few of the thunderstorms could be quite strong and could produce a heavy downpour and some gusty winds. Saturday will be a much warmer day as our afternoon temperatures will be in the mid to upper 70s. That’s about a 10-15 degree jump from Friday.

Sunday we will begin to dry up as high pressure takes over the region. We can not rule out a passing thunderstorm in the northern counties in the afternoon but just about all of us will stay dry. We will see a mix of sun and clouds throughout the day. Sunday will be a bit warmer as our temperatures will reach the upper 70s to the lower 80s.

Monday and Tuesday will both be very nice. We will see a partly cloudy sky on Monday and a mostly clear sky on Tuesday. Both days the afternoon temperatures will reach the upper 70s to the lower 80s. We begin a mini warm up at the start of the work week.

Wednesday will also be a nice day with a mix of clouds and sun. Wednesday’s highs will reach the mid 80s. Late Wednesday evening a front will move into Central Pennsylvania and will bring showers and thunderstorms back to the region.

The front will move through Thursday and bring scattered showers and thunderstorms throughout the day. Thursdays highs will reach the mid to upper 80s.

Friday and into next weekend our temperatures will really jump up quite a bit. The highs will be in the upper 80s to the lower 90s. as of right now Friday looks mainly dry but we can not rule out a passing shower or thunderstorm.
