With just patchy clouds and little wind temperatures tonight will drop back to 40s to near 50 but this is still well above average for the date. Wednesday will probably be the warmest day in this stretch. We’ll have more sunshine than clouds with a gusty southwesterly breeze. This will help boost temperatures into the 70s which will be a record breaker for most locations. The record high in Altoona is 71 degrees and we are calling for a high of 74. A front located to our north and west will draw closer on Thursday. This will give us a mix of clouds and sunshine with more clouds the farther north in the state that you are. There will be the chance for some showers and drizzle, especially to the north and during the afternoon. Highs on Thursday will still reach into the 70s in the southern part of the state but likely will not rise out of the lower 60s in some places north of I-80. This front will slip south of the area by Friday morning leaving us with only a slight chance for a shower. Otherwise the rest of the day will feature a mix of clouds and sunshine with highs not too far away from 60. This front will stall close to the area for the weekend. We’ll have more clouds than sunshine on Saturday with a slight chance for a shower. There will be a better chance for some showers and drizzle Sunday and Monday. High temperatures each day will be in the 50s which is well above average but will likely feel cool due to the recent warm weather and the lack of much sunshine. This front will clear the area on Tuesday with clouds and a shower giving way to some sunshine. Highs will be in the lower to middle 50s. A relatively mild weather pattern will continue through the end of next week.
