We’ll continue to have scattered showers, even a thunderstorm in places early tonight. Some places will have a flooding downpour. The rest of tonight will be rather cloudy with scattered showers and areas of fog. It’s going to be quite muggy for the end of September with lows in the 60s.
Wednesday will become breezy and warm with clouds and some sunshine. This is in advance of a cold front that will bring a couple of rounds of gusty showers and thunderstorms, especially during the midday and afternoon hours. Temperatures will still reach into the 70s in most places on Wednesday, some places well east of I-99 will reach close to 80. Behind this front we are going to have a much drier weather pattern for a while. Thursday will be a little cooler with a partly to mostly cloudy sky. There is a slight chance for a shower in places Thursday night into Friday; otherwise, Friday will be a comfortable day with a mix of clouds and sunshine. Highs will be in the 60s to near 70. Saturday will be breezy and a little cooler with a mix of clouds and sunshine along with a slight chance for a shower. Highs will be in the 60s. This bodes well for the big Penn State versus Ohio State game that kicks off at 7:30pm. A bubble of high pressure will settle over the region and give us a chilly night Saturday night with lows in the 40s. Some of the coldest spots may hit the 30s. Sunshine will make for a nice afternoon Sunday with highs in the 60s to near 70. Monday will be partly sunny and breezy with highs near 70. The next front may bring some showers on Tuesday with highs in the 60s. We’ll stay seasonable behind that front later next week.
