We’re in store for another mild night tonight with a clear to partly cloudy sky. Areas of low clouds and fog will develop later on at night and would move on into the morning hours. Friday will be quite warm for September. We’ll start off with areas of low clouds and fog then it will turn breezy and warm with a mix of clouds and sunshine. Temperatures will reach into the 80s, some places well into the 80s.
As a cold front approaches, there may be a shower or thunderstorm later in the day in the far northwestern part of the region. This front will bring a band of gusty showers and a thunderstorm early Friday night and then we’ll have leftover clouds later Friday night. Lows will be in the 60s east of I-99 to the upper 50s farther to the west. Behind the front, Saturday will be a much cooler day with a good deal of clouds for a while. The clouds should start to break from the northwest to the southeast during the afternoon. Highs will be in the 60s to near 70. This front will stall not too far away to our south and likely will still give us more clouds than sunshine on Sunday with just the chance for some drizzle or a touch of rain in places down near the Maryland border. Temperatures will not leave the 60s on Sunday. There is a better chance for some showers and drizzle on Monday, especially the farther south you live. Highs will be in the 60s on Monday, some of the cooler spots will be in the 50s. Tuesday will also be mostly cloudy with showers likely. Temperatures will dry to rebound back to near to just above 70 on Tuesday. The next cold front will bring some showers and thunderstorms on Wednesday. Highs will be in the lower to middle 70s. Behind the front, we’ll have a mix of clouds and sunshine Thursday. Highs will be near to just above 70s. Even cooler air looks poised to move into the region for the following weekend.
