The cold front that brought us some rainfall today will push off to the east. Any leftover showers will come to an end early this evening. The rest of tonight will become windy and colder with a partly to mostly cloudy sky. Lows will be in the 40s.
Friday will stay breezy to windy and it will be a much cooler day. We really have not had much wind outside of thunderstorms this summer so the wind will be quite noticeable with some gusts to around 30mph. We’ll have a mix of clouds and sunshine with more clouds than sunshine west of Route 219 with more peeks of sunshine east of I-99. Highs will be in the 50s. Which is over 20° colder than earlier this week. A weak disturbance will bring us a bit of light rain or sprinkles Friday night into early Saturday. A couple of wet snowflakes may mix in over the higher terrain in the northwestern part of our region. Clouds should break for some sunshine Saturday afternoon with highs in the upper 40s to the lower 50s.
It’s going to be a chilly late afternoon for Penn State’s matchup against Michigan State with a 3:30pm kickoff. A more widespread frost is possible Saturday night thanks to a clearing sky and less wind, but most of us should avoid a killing freeze. We’ll have a mix of clouds and sunshine on Sunday, but the day may finish with a mostly cloudy sky. Highs on Sunday will be in the 50s to the lower 60s. The next disturbance will bring more clouds than sunshine on Monday with some rain moving in later in the day. Highs will be in the 50s to near 60 Monday. This should be a fast moving disturbance and any leftover rain or sprinkles will come to an end early Tuesday. It will stay a bit breezy and chilly with clouds and sunshine on Wednesday. Highs will be in the lower to middle 50s Wednesday. It will stay seasonably cool into the end of next week.
