Evening Weather Forecast Thursday, October 10th, 2018

A big change in the weather pattern is coming our way, and when we go through these changes, we usually will get some unsettled weather. We’ll start to get the change in the weather tonight with scattered showers, and in spots, a thunderstorm. With so much moisture in the air, any of these could bring a downpour. It will stay quite muggy with a good deal of clouds tonight with lows in the 60s, mostly the middle to upper 60s.

A cold front will bring numerous showers and thunderstorms for a time Thursday, any of which can be heavy. Most likely these will shift to our east later in the day as the front passes to the east. Highs Thursday will range from the 60s to the west to the lower 70s farther to the east. The remnants of what is now Hurricane Michael will be passing to our south, and while it likely won’t directly bring us rainfall, it’s going to help pull in cool air behind the front later this week. We’ll turn much cooler Thursday night with lows in the 40s. Friday will be breezy and much cooler with clouds and sunshine along with highs in the 50s. A disturbance may bring us a period of chilly rain Friday night into early Saturday. Clouds should break for some sunshine later Saturday. Highs will only be in the 50s. It’s going to be a chilly late afternoon for Penn State’s matchup against Michigan State with a 3:30pm kickoff. A more widespread frost is possible Saturday night but most of us should avoid a killing freeze. We’ll have a mix of clouds and sunshine on Sunday, but the day may finish with a mostly cloudy sky. Highs on Sunday will be in the 50s to the lower 60s. The next front will bring more clouds than sunshine on Monday with some rain moving in later in the day. Highs will be in the 50s to near 60 Monday. We’ll still have a period of rain or showers early Tuesday then clouds should break for some sunshine. Highs will be in the 50s Tuesday. It will stay a bit breezy and chilly with clouds and sunshine on Wednesday. Highs will be in the lower to middle 50s Wednesday. It will stay seasonably cool into the end of next week.
