There will still be a touch of drizzle in some spots near the Maryland border early this evening; otherwise, tonight will be partly to mostly cloudy with more breaks in the clouds the farther north you are located. There can be a touch of drizzle or a bit of rain in spots again later tonight down to the south.

The front that has been stalled to our south will start to come back northward on Friday. As it does, clouds will thicken from the south to the north in the morning with some rain following the clouds. It may take until later in the day until any rain reaches the far northwestern part of our region. Highs on Friday will range from the 60s to the south where the rain starts early to the 70s with some early sunshine to the north. We’ll have periods of rain along with scattered thunderstorms Friday night into Saturday. Some of the rain may be heavy and the ground is already saturated, so the National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for the counties along the Maryland border for Friday night into early Saturday. Clouds may break in places later Saturday with the rain tapering to scattered showers. Highs on Saturday will be in the upper 60s to the lower 70s. This system is going to slow to depart the region. There still can be a shower or thunderstorm in places Sunday; otherwise it will turn milder with a mix of clouds and sunshine. Highs will be in the middle 70s. Monday will also be seasonably warm and humid with clouds and sunshine along with scattered showers and thunderstorms. Highs will be in the middle 70s. There still can be a shower or thunderstorm in places on Tuesday; otherwise, we’ll have clouds and sunshine with highs in the middle 70s. Eventually a bubble of high pressure will start to give us nicer and drier weather through the middle to latter part of next week. Highs will be in the 70s with less humidity. We’ll have a mix of clouds and sunshine Wednesday and then a good deal of sunshine on Thursday.
