The cold front that sparked off the scattered showers and thunderstorms today is shifting off to the east. There will still be a leftover shower in a few spots this evening then later tonight will be partly cloudy and more comfortable. Lows will be in the 40s to the 50s. That front will stall to our south on Friday.
Friday won’t be quite as warm with clouds and sunshine. Highs will be closer to the 70° mark. This front will come back northward as a warm front and will likely bring us a batch of showers and thunderstorms Friday night into perhaps early Saturday, especially near and north of I-80. Behind that warm front, temperatures will reach up well into the 70s to the lower 80s Saturday with a mix of clouds and sunshine. There will be some pop-up showers and thunderstorms later in the day into the evening, especially the farther north your area. Showers and thunderstorms will be a bit more numerous on Sunday with a front stalled close to the region. While the day won’t be a wash out, most places will have at least some rainfall and any shower or thunderstorm can bring a downpour so that is not the best news for mom.
The front should clear the area but Monday leaving us with a mix of clouds and sunshine. It will not be much cooler behind the front with highs in the middle 70s. Tuesday and Wednesday will also stay milder than average with a mix of clouds and sunshine along with just the a small chance for a pop-up shower or thunderstorm on either day. Highs each day will be in the middle to upper 70s. We’ll have a better chance for scattered showers and thunderstorms on Thursday as a front moves into the region. We’ll stay mild behind that front through the following weekend. I will talk more about that coming up with your 10-day futuretrack later on.
