A stronger cold front is approaching the region tonight. We’ll have plenty of clouds with drizzle and earlier tonight. A steadier and heavier rainfall will start to develop after midnight tonight. The rain can fall heavy at times into Tuesday morning and there can even be a rumble of thunder in places. Temperatures tonight are not going to drop much, but actually may rise in some places. As the rain tapers off, the clouds will try to break for some sunshine Tuesday afternoon. It will become windy and it will stay relatively mild with highs in the 50s to the west and into the 60s farther to the east.
We’ll have a nice break with at least some sunshine each day Wednesday and Thursday. Wednesday will be breezy with a mix of clouds and sunshine and highs in the 50s. It will be a little cooler on Thursday with sunshine mixing with clouds. Highs will be in the 40s to near 50. Another powerful front is coming our way later in the week. Ahead of the front, we’ll have a mix of clouds and sunshine on Friday with highs in the 40s. Rain will develop Friday and that will keep temperatures from rising out of the 40s. Behind the front, it is going to turn dramatically colder for the weekend. Saturday will be windy and quite cold. Morning clouds and flurries will give way to some peeks of sunshine. Temperatures will not rise out of the 30s with the wind making it feel even colder. This is going to make it cold for those going to the Penn State – Wisconsin game which will kick off at noon. Sunday will be partly sunny but chilly. Highs will be in the 30s to the lower 40s. Another front will bring some clouds and maybe a shower later Monday. Highs will be 30s to the lower 40s. Behind that front, it’s going to get very cold by the middle of next week.
