Weather

Clouds will thicken early tonight. A weak disturbance will bring us a period of light rain later tonight night into early Saturday. A couple of wet snowflakes may mix in over the higher terrain in the northwestern part of our region. After a damp, gray and chilly start to the day, clouds should break for some sunshine Saturday afternoon with highs in the middle 40s to within a few degrees of 50°. It’s going to be a chilly late afternoon for Penn State’s matchup against Michigan State with a 3:30pm kickoff.

A more widespread frost is possible Saturday night thanks to a clearing sky and less wind, but most of us should avoid a killing freeze. We’ll have a mix of clouds and sunshine on Sunday, but the day may finish with a mostly cloudy sky. Highs on Sunday will be in the 50s to the lower 60s. The next disturbance will bring plenty of clouds on Monday with rain developing from the west to the east. Temperatures on Monday will likely not leave the 50s. This should be a fast-moving disturbance and any leftover rain or sprinkles will come to an end by very early Tuesday. It will stay a bit breezy and chilly Tuesday with clouds and sunshine. Highs will be in the lower to middle 50s. Wednesday will also be breezy with clouds and sunshine with highs in the 50s. A weak front should pass rain free on Wednesday. Behind the front, Thursday should be bright but chilly with highs in the 40s to near 50. The chill will ease on Friday. Another chill will try to return sometime on the following weekend.
