BLAIR COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) — Central defeated Penn Cambria 46-6 in WTAJ’s Sportsbeat Game of the Week.
Central scored early in the game with a pass from junior quarterback Jeff Hoenstine to Parker Gregg to put themselves on the board 7-0.
Later in the first quarter, Gregg intercepted a pass from Penn Cambria’s quarterback Garrett Harrold. Hoenstine capitalized on the pick and connected with Elijah Lingenfelter in the following play. They increased their lead to 13-0 after the extra point was no good.
In the second quarter, Hoenstine connected with Lingenfelter who passed to Devon Boyles for 36 yards. Parker Gregg secured an 18-yard TD for the Dragons in the following play. The Dragons went for a two-point conversion but the pass was incomplete.
In the second half, both Gregg and Hunter Smith scored on a 6-yard carry. Gregg tacked on his third touchdown of the evening.
Hoenstine also connected with Devon Boyles late in the third quarter to increase their lead to 39-0.
Kade Rhule kicked off the fourth quarter with a dominating drive, eventually leading the Dragons to the endzone on a one-yard carry. Penn Cambria was able to put themselves on the board toward the end of the game with a 5-yard touchdown.
Central advances to 5-0 and they travel to Johnstown next week to face off against Richland.
