BLAIR COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) — The Central Dragons remain undefeated after beating Bedford 41-27 in week seven of Sportsbeat’s Game of the Week.

Parker Gregg took the first touchdown for the night, scoring on a 2-yard run and putting Central on the board first with a score of 7-0. The Bison answered back right away in the first, recovering a fumble from the Dragons and capitalizing with a 25-yard touchdown from Mercury Swaim to Justin Arnold. The teams were tied 7-7 at the end of the first quarter.
The Dragons acquired their momentum in the second quarter, firing out with a pass from Jeff Joenstine to Gregg for 76 yards. Hoenstine connected with Elijah Lingenfelter on the next play for a 10-yard pass and the touchdown. Their kick was blocked and Central took over 13-7.
Hunter Smith scored for Central with a carry from three yards out. Smith tacked on an extra two points after a successful 2-point conversion with him and Hoenstine to increase the lead to 21-7. The Dragons tacked on another six points later in the second after Bedford attempted to punt on 4th and 9 from their own 16-yard line and fumbled on the snap. Jason Clark recovered the ball in the endzone and the score increased to 27-7 Central.
A 34-yard run from Bedford’s Max Washington placed the Bison at Central’s 14-yard line, but a fumble prompted a Central takeover. Hoenstine’s pass intended for Gregg on 3rd and 10 was intercepted by Swaim, who scored on a quarterback keep during the next play. The extra point was good, Bedford trailing 27-14.
The Dragons ended the second quarter with another touchdown from three yards out, this time with a handoff from Hoenstine to Gregg. Hoenstine was able to connect with Clark in the endzone for an extra two points, leading 35-14 at halftime.
Swaim scored another touchdown for the Bison in the second half on a quarterback keep. Bedford trailed 35-20 at the end of the third quarter. Gregg was able to score the last touchdown for the Dragons for the night on a 1-yard carry and lead 41-20.
Swaim ran for 15 yards for another Bedford touchdown and the final score of 41-27.
Gregg led the offense for the Dragons with three touchdowns while Swaim tacked on three touchdowns for the Bison.
