PSU MBB rides hot streak into postseason

The “Why Not Us?” mentality got Penn State two wins in last year’s Big Ten men’s basketball tournament.

Now the Nittany Lions have a similarly upbeat mindset heading into this year’s postseason.

“We have limitless potential. Don’t put a limit on anything that we can do,” head coach Patrick Chambers says. “Continue to reach for the stars.”

Penn State has reason to believe, winning five of its last eight games entering the Big Ten tournament.

The Nittany Lions’ outside shooting has helped key that success.

They’ve averaged nine three pointers a game in that span.

“We’re moving the ball side to side. It’s touching both sides. Shooting with confidence,” senior forward Brandon Taylor says. “I think that’s our main thing. Don’t get down on yourself if you miss a shot or two. Just keep on shooting. Because that’s the ultimate confidence that coach wants you to play with.”

The Nittany Lions will travel to Indianapolis Wednesday afternoon with the first game scheduled against Ohio State Thursday night at 6:30.
