Coach Franklin opens up about goal to be first African-American coach to win College Football Championship

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. (WTAJ) — James Franklin is one of several African-American head football coaches in the FBS. Coach Franklin revealed on the HBO special that he wanted to be the first African-American coach to win a college football championship.

Coach Franklin also adds that Tony Dungy and Lovie Smith facing each other in the Super Bowl in 2006 played a big part in influencing him as a coach.
