Penn State senior quarterback Trace McSorley and junior defensive end Shareef Miller earned spots on two different preseason award watch lists Monday.
McSorley landed on the preseason watch list for the Maxwell Award – which goes to the nation’s Player of the Year. Miller landed on the Bednarik Award watch lists which goes to the top defensive player in the country.
According to a release, Penn State is known for churning out Maxwell and Bednarik Award winners:
“Penn State is tied for the national lead among all colleges and universities with its seven Maxwell Award winners. The Nittany Lions’ four Bednarik Award recipients are the most of any school in the nation.”
