Bob Gongloff had coached girls basketball at Bishop Carroll for 19 seasons.

Gongloff confirmed to WTAJ Thursday he is retiring via email.

He coached the Huskies in two different stints. First, Gongloff coached the team from 1991-2004 and then returned to coach Bishop Carroll in 2015.

Gongloff helped the team to two state championships and two state runner-up finishes.

Bishop Carroll won the state titles in 2002 and 2003 and his teams’ runner-up finishes were in 1996 and 1998. Gongloff also coached his teams to seven District 6 championships including this past season.

Gongloff tallied more than 400 wins at Bishop Carroll.

Gongloff was briefly suspended in-season this past year before returning and coaching his team to the District title.
