Spikes dramatic comeback falls short

Local Sports

If you left the State College Spikes game early Saturday, you almost missed a historic night.

The Spikes trailed Staten Island 13-3 in the fifth inning, but somehow got the tying-run to the plate in the ninth inning, ultimately falling 14-13.

David Vinsky tied a Spikes single-game record with five hits, and Andrew Warner pounded two homers.
