Bellefonte baseball’s furry friend fuels postseason run

Local Sports

It does not always have to make sense.

At every Bellefonte baseball game, you will find the team’s furry friend nearby. Kenny the squirrel is the team’s “unofficial official” mascot as coach Jon Clark said.

Early in the season, Bellefonte sported an 0-3 record when it found three baby squirrels in its home dugout at Governor’s Park. The team was able to save one and release it to the woods.

Since then, you will find “Kenny” – the team’s stuffed squirrel – at every game.
