Dana Heinze was back in his hometown Tuesday night.

He was the goalie for the Westmont Hilltop hockey team in the 1980’s and had his jersey number retired in front of a crowd of family and friends.

“Its humbling. I mean they came to see me, and sometimes I’m like, Why?,” Heinze said.  “But you know I’ve worked hard, Ive done things the right way and I do really love this community.”

Heinze has hit it big since leaving high school.  He owns 4 Stanley Cup rings and is currently the equipment manager for the Pittsburgh Penguins, where he earned three of those rings.  He also received a ring with the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2004.

“Johnstown is a great city, I love it here, Its my hometown.  It always will be and I’m very passionate about this area.”
