Curve look to build on 2017 championship run

After taking the Eastern League Championship in 2017, the Altoona Curve look poised to make another run at a championship.

With a significant amount of holdovers from that 2017 championship team, it’s an exciting time to be a Curve fan.

And the players are enjoying those winning ways as well, even getting some love from the big league club.

“I mean I think it’s something special to have that group of guys to be able to get together and celebrate again after the whole thing’s already happened. Celebrate it, have a good time you know we were looking forward to next year. Just being able to look back and kind of say you know hey that was a good run we had lets carry it over and do it again,” Pitcher Brandon Waddell said.

“Getting together and obviously being publically recognized in front of the big league team and Frank, Bob, Neil all those guys, it’s cool to see all the hard work we put in the summer and the fall kind of be celebrated in front of all those people,” Shortstop Cole Tucker said.

The Curve open their season Thursday night against Akron over at Peoples Natural Gas Field with first pitch scheduled for 6 pm.
