The news isn’t getting any better in Steeler Nation.

Star wide receiver Antonio Brown has asked to be traded according to CBS Sports’ Jason La Canfora. It’s said it is not a demand but according to La Canfora, Brown says Mike Tomlin is too aligned with quarterback Ben Roethlisberger.

Brown missed the season finale Sunday with what was diagnosed as a knee injury. However, news broke Monday from the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette saying Brown was benched after a flare up Wednesday at practice.

Brown caught 104 passes this season for 1297 yards and caught 15 TDs.

Brown has a cap hit of $22.1 million next season, but there would be 21.1 million in dead cap should the Steelers decide to cut him.

La Canfora mentioned that owner Dan Rooney would likely not capitulate with the request.
